Install Building Maintenance Units with Confidence

No matter how structurally-sound a building is, all buildings will at some point require maintenance, servicing and improvements. As such, all hire-rise buildings must have the correct Building Maintenance Units fitted to them to ensure they are attended to in due time.

As Australia and New Zealand’s leading supplier of Tractel equipment and solutions, Standard Access proudly provides high-quality building maintenance units across the country. With many solutions available, these can also be fitted to suit a building owner’s
specific needs or the level of maintenance a building will require across its lifetime. Effectively, building owners can choose to instal permanent fixtures in their building or implement short-term solutions, such as cradles, monorails, gantries and davits.

The benefits of sourcing a permanent or semi-permanent building maintenance solution through Standard Access include:

Our building maintenance solution will help meet all construction requirements

Whether you are working on a construction project, a remodel or routine maintenance, some aspects of the job will be more difficult to achieve than others. With the Standard Access lifting solutions, contractors can reach any part of a building, meaning that no part of the job’s requirements is too tough.

Standard Access’ building maintenance units (BMUs) are also very sleek and will occupy little space along with the building. This allows all contractors to get the work complete without interfering with other work that may be taking place on the building. Though this is less essential when only one job is being executed, this is incredibly convenient when large-scale renovations are being carried out as contractors will rarely obscure each other’s work.

Only the best building maintenance units are supplied

The team at Standard Access prioritises quality and contractor safety above all else. Before installing any equipment or machinery, they will take the time to listen to your requirements to find the best solution for you. When you have questions or are unsure about an
alternative, they are always happy to run you through the specifications to help.

Any building maintenance unit supplied by the team will only be of the utmost quality. This can eliminate risks on the site and ensure that compliance is upheld. For those buildings with a permanent Tractel fixture, the team will carry out frequent maintenance and servicing to make sure they function their best so efficiency is not compromised.

Building maintenance units (BMUs) can be installed in short timeframes

Buildings may require maintenance at short notice. To rectify problems as quickly as possible, Standard Access will pull all of the stops to deliver and install lifting equipment on time. From the moment the team sets a designated timeframe, they are committed to it.

They will always arrive on time and ensure the equipment is installed promptly so the contractors can use it as soon as possible.
This allows building owners, construction office managers and the site management team to organise all resources and staff in advance so the job is completed as efficiently as possible. Once the job is complete, the Standard Access team will make no haste to uninstall any semi-permanent BMUs equipment to have buildings looking back to normal in no time.

Standard Access will take care of all BMUs maintenance

If machinery isn’t performing as it should or a service is required, the Standard Access team will look after everything. With an experienced crew of certified technicians at their asset, the Stanard Access team will spare no expense in keeping all machinery and equipment performing efficiently. This commitment to quality and performance can reduce downtime and keep all job sites working at their optimum.

If a building has been fitted with an older model BMU, the Standard Access team can replace this equipment when necessary to enhance its performance, safety and efficiency. If you have an older model BMU; you can always contact the team to discuss your upgrade options for your unit.

    Complete safety and documentation

Operating lifting machinery and equipment is a risk for business owners and construction companies, especially in the event that something unplanned arises. When you install your access equipment with Standard Access, you will receive full reporting, risk assessments and documentation; prepared to your state or territory’s compliance needs.

This documentation will also contain all the safety information, operational guidelines and manuals that contractors can reference to make certain they are using the machinery as intended. Site managers and construction office managers can also enrol their contractors and employees in Standard Access’ training programs before they operate the machinery to maintain integrity on all worksites.

Permanent Industrial Elevators Provide Endless Benefits For the Industrial Sector

The team at Standard Access understands that the owners of industrial assets, including silos, heavy manufacturing equipment and cement plants, likely have a limited understanding of the vertical access solutions, such as, permanent industrial elevators, available and the overall benefits these solutions introduce. An owner should be more focused on ensuring everything is flowing smoothly, that all employees are safe, have effective access and that their assets are functioning to full capacity to maximise revenue.

To take the guesswork out of sourcing the right lifting and handling equipment, we have committed ourselves to being the experts in this field. When the team meets with an asset owner, they will work strategically on sourcing the most suitable vertical access solution to maximise overall safety and efficiencies. We will make sure the permanent industrial elevator or material hoist will comply with local regulations, environmental factors, and any site-specific requirements.

The team will also consider all budget limitations that asset owners may have. They will navigate a suitable industrial lift within budget and showcase how this can benefit construction, maintenance and servicing requirements well into the future.

Supplying the highest standard of quality every time

The suppliers sourced by Standard Access are the best in the business. They prioritise quality, reliability and contractor safety at all times. Above this, the permanent industrial elevator sourced by Standard Access meet all global safety and compliance standards while being easy to operate. This means that asset managers can rest easy that their worksite will remain risk-free at all times without needing to send their staff to extensive new training programs.

Where asset managers may feel they want refresher training and insight as to how they can maintain the integrity of their site, they can always contact the team or refer to one of the Standard Access training sessions.

    Providing easy-to-operate machinery

Asset managers, such as site managers, foremen and any key decision-makers, may not have the experience operating lifting equipment and machinery. All of the access solutions provided by the team are tried and tested across many worksites. Through strenuous innovation, they are easy to operate, meaning contractors can focus more of their time on their job.

As they don’t incorporate any complex systems, this makes the permanent access equipment easier to maintain. Standard Access can also facilitate maintenance and repairs for this equipment. This will ensure that the equipment is compliant, reduces potential downtime and increases its overall lifespan.

Permanent industrial elevators and lifts, improving site access

Permanent industrial elevators and lifts provided by the Standard Access can access up to 300 metres. They also come in various sizes and can all withstand different capacities. The team will analyse your requirements and help you make the most informed decision for your structure.

Reducing downtime and injury on sites

Standard Access is committed to providing frequent servicing and maintenance to guarantee that all equipment is working as it should. Paired with the industry-leading technology of our suppliers, this can ensure site operators, including contractors, do not lose income while waiting for repairs. As this equipment is regularly inspected and checked by the Standard Access team, this can alleviate injury risks and also allow site operators to feel safer while at work.

    Increasing site efficiency

Many contractors and site operators are placed on strict time constraints. They must get specific work completed within a given time frame. Permanent industrial elevator are available in various speeds to suit contractor workload and the movement required on site.

Access end-to-end re-clad solutions with Standard Access

A successful re-clad solution is as much part of every city as the buildings themselves. As skylines continue to modernise and cities get bigger, many older buildings are undergoing renovation work and re-cladding to remain relevant. However, in busy, congested cities, including Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, it can be difficult to operate heavy machinery without obscuring traffic or shutting down lanes. In many cases, building managers will opt for night works and renovations, which cost copious amounts of money, to complete their job without negatively impacting the environment around them.

Fortunately, Standard Access provides lifting and handling equipment, material hoists and personnel hoists, which grant access to high-rise buildings and construction projects without cranes and other heavy lifting equipment. When implemented correctly, these solutions can benefit facade consultants, corporate companies, building companies and facade contractors alike.

Here are just some of the reasons how Standard Access’ solutions can benefit those invested in the re-clad process.

Re-clad solutions offered by Standard Access are high-quality and reduce downtime

Many facade consultants and contractors have limited knowledge about the quality equipment available in the market. Rather than seeking the most efficient solution, such as a mast climbing work platform, they typically stick to what they have known to work for generations, such as cranes and scissor lifts. Unfortunately, these often have limited mobility and can make re-cladding jobs in congested spaces difficult to complete.

Standard Access sources the highest-quality modern lifting solutions, suited to completing the entire scope of work. When you contact the team, they will help you find the pieces of access equipment you need to complete the job. This will save money on call-out fees and contractors. It will also reduce downtime due to waiting long periods for new equipment to arrive on site.

On top of this, the equipment you source for your re-clad will be tested against the highest quality standards and serviced regularly. This will prevent downtime and ensure that contractors are safe.

Protect the public with high-quality access solutions

Many buildings that require a re-clad have been standing for years. Due to decades of sun, wind and rain exposure, their current cladding could present a risk to the public. In the event of an accident, this could place corporates at risk of high insurance claims and poor media exposure.

Standard Access machinery and lifting equipment can be installed on-site at short notice. With hoist operators also available for hire, this can certify that any non-compliant cladding is removed and re-instated. With limited resources required to reach these high-rise facilities, the Standard Access solution can save building owners and corporate companies thousands of dollars.

All re-clad works can be carried out at once with Standard Access’ solutions

In the past, re-cladding has been a long process due to the safety risks of operating too much machinery at once. Standard Access provides wide reach and close building proximity, meaning many contractors can work on their designated job together. Having them all work on separate parts of the re-clad can reduce the lead time for completion.

For construction companies, this provides the opportunity to complete high-quality jobs at a more efficient pace. In the long-term, they can then pick up more re-clads and increase their year-on-year profits without compromising service quality.

Another benefit of having all works carried out at once is the reduced administration and risk. Construction company owners and foremen will only need to focus on a few days worth of planning. This decrease in administration means they can allocate more time to facilitating safety protocols and risk assessments to keep all staff safe. Standard Access also offers full equipment training for first-time users or those looking to refresh their knowledge to help maintain the integrity of the worksite.

    A re-clad solution at 8 Nicholso St

    Proven success from Standard Access

Approached by Built in 2020, Standard Access was tasked with providing a solution for a re-cladding project on 8 Nicholson St, Victoria. All facade panels from the floor to the roof of the 70-metre building needed replacing. Above this, the mast climbers and monorails had to be maximised to cover all elevations in one installation while minimising anchoring points.

With careful planning and attention to detail, the Standard Access team combined several single & twin mast climbers working in conjunction with the ‘glide-rail’ monorail system. As secondary support, they also provided a 2000kg materials hoist and several 500kg & 1000kg rope hoists. All mast climbers were supported at the base by engineered steel gantries.

This successful solution was met with an abundance of praise and endless support. The Built team commented that Standard Access’ eye for detail made this re-clad project much easier to undertake than it would have been using regular machinery.

    Supporting all re-clad projects

The team at Standard Access is passionate about showing contractors, building owners, and construction companies how new lifting and handling machinery can make a difference to re-clad works. If you are interested in finding out more or implementing a high-value listing solution on your site, you can always contact the team.
